BUT... WHO IS RUSKUS? Leo "Ruskus Patruskus" Kálnay discovered the theater universe in 1989 in Caracas, where he studied dramatic art during three years. When he graduated he joined the Compañía Nacional de Teatro de Venezuela (National Theatre Company of Venezuela) as an apprentice actor, and he performed with them in four different productions. In 1993 he moved to Barcelona (Spain) where he discovered the clown world altogether with other performing arts such as acrobatics (with master Rogelio Rivel), trapeze and juggling. He also worked in several theatre productions and was a member of the Circus Tanger company. He has been a professional clown since 1999 and has collaborated with Clowns without Borders in their programs in Kosovo and Guatemala. In Madrid he joined English Festival (a project aimed to spread the knowledge of English language in schools by means of performing arts). He has taken part in several festivals, as for example the Fira de Teatre de Tàrrega or the Fira Màgica de Santa Susanna. Nowadays he runs three self-produced shows: Arzabarastayan! (family entertainment), Cirkruskus (stage show) and Traspatràs (accidents prevention show). |
